Dear Hulbert Homes,

As little over a year ago, we decided to build our first new home. Not being familiar with the builders in the Polk County area, we decided to join the tour through the Parade of Homes. During this tour of many beautiful homes, our mutual choice of the home that would best fit our needs was the Hulbert Homes model. We cemented our choice when the model won all the top awards being offered that spring.

We have been living in our new home for six months now, and could not be happier with our choice. We've heard many horror stories from friends of a long list of things to be finished, redone, repaired, replaced, etc after they had moved into their supposedly completed homes. We are proud to say that we had no list, have no list, and never anticipate having a list. The home was completed on time, and when we say completed, we mean totally completed. NOTHING has been required since we moved in.

We cannot imagine why we would ever need to build another new home, but if that occasion should arise, there is only one builder that we would seriously consider, multiple award winning Mark Hulbert, CEO of Hulbert Homes, Inc. THANK YOU MARK.

Thank you for making my home building experience an easy one. I say "easy" because I had many people tell me a lot of horror stories about their home building experience.

First, let me express my appreciation to Tony. He was an excellent supervisor. He returned my calls promptly. He listened to our wants and needs and gave us excellent advice, alternatives and ideas. He was always there when a meeting at the house was required. In short, he was the key to this.

I will say that the reason we decided to build with you was of course the price was very competitive, but equally as important was that you were nice friendly people who seemed genuinely eager to have our business. I remember an early meeting when Mark said "I want to build your home". That to me showed that we weren't just business, but people.

I'd say from start to finish things went smoothly. Everything we asked for was taken care of.

Based upon our experience you are doing a fine job building homes. As much as the home itself which is a very personal experience for people, the comfort level they experience from their builder goes a long way to making this experience a bearable one. I got the feeling during this that you and your people really cared that they were doing the job to the customer's satisfaction.

We found the whole experience of building a house surprisingly pleasant, even though we had been told that it would be such a stressful time. It was easy to work with Paul Imig, the superintendent assigned to us, particularly because he was always accessible, patient when I felt I was being picky, and willing to get answers if he didn't have them. We appreciated Mark staying involved and coming by, even on Saturdays to check on everything. That was very re-assuring to us. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of materials that were being used, i.e., the nice molding and hardware on doors and cabinets. I loved the seat in the shower that you surprised us with. We are greatly enjoying the window above the front door, which we know was difficult to do.

Most of all, we appreciate the fact that Hulbert Homes was willing to work with us considering the modest home we built and that the service and craftsmanship was excellent.

Thank you for my new home. When I finally decided to move out of my apartment, I repeatedly told anyone who would listen to me that there was no way I would build a home – too many decisions, too much oversight, too much time commitment needed. While looking at homes with my realtor, and dismissing homes within minutes, I saw a house that I loved. I loved the exterior stonework, the layout, and the brick pavers drive and walkway. The house turned out to be a Hulbert Homes, Inc. home.

Luckily for me, I work with one of Hulbert Homes, Inc.’s biggest supporters who “arranged” a meeting for me with Mark. Not very long after the meeting, I had a contract and an appointment to meet with my designer. Though I was overwhelmed and a wreck about the prospect of building and having to make so many selections, Mark assured me that I would not live the nightmare I was envisioning and the nightmare that many people suffer when building homes with other builders. Mark was right. Having the design center and most choices all in one, central location is brilliant, especially for me. My designer, was especially patient with me when I had no idea what I wanted to do…

Even your office staff treated me like a star. Whenever I called, whoever answered the phone recognized me, inquired about my house and set about getting me the information I needed…

The subcontractors with whom I personally dealt with, laborers and Hulbert employees I met on the jobsite were friendly, helpful, and courteous.

Your subcontractors are definitely a positive reflection on Hulbert Homes, Inc.

Building a house can be a stressful time, regardless of how prepared the homeowner is. Everyone on your staff was very helpful and courteous. This was our first home building experience and we certainly appreciate the effort and follow through made by you and your staff, from the first contract meeting right through to the meticulous follow-up.
